I will admit it: I am spoiled when it comes to Christmas Stockings. I got Christmas Stockings until I was around 22.
Personally, I think we as adults can sometimes forget that giving ourselves a frivolous little gift can be very healing. When it’s bound up in the stresses of modern life it might even make us feel a bit guilty, or remind us that after this quick break it’ll be right back to work. Especially if you’re the one doing the organising for the Christmas Holidays.
Well, give your brain a rest, because here are the best stocking fillers for all ages at Wyldes- so everyone, hopefully even yourself, gets a bit of extra joy!
Jelly Beans Double Dares
What could bring the family together closer than a game of jelly bean roulette? With the Double Dares Jelly Bean Spinner, you may get a delicious flavour like bubblegum, or a horrible one like mouthwash!
I’ve always found pranks to be difficult to pull off. It can be hard to find a balance where the prank-ee is also equally involved and able to laugh at the gag. With this, everyone’s involved in a deliciously gross game. It’s also cheaper than the popular Brand Beanboozled.
Sugar Mice
We’ve mentioned Sugar Mice before on this blog, and likely will several times more before I expire. Sugar mice are one of the quintessential Christmas Sweets. A mouse-shaped block of pure white or pink-coloured sugar with a cotton tail (that bit isn’t edible, before you try).
Most people I’ve chatted to have mentioned they tend to find them a bit too much for even the sweetest tooths these days. They might not be as well-known by the generations of today, so introducing them early might be the best time to appreciate them before our taste buds start liking yucky vegetables!
Marshmallow Lollipops
Our favourite one pictured here is the marshmallow skewer, although this does make me think of kebabs. They’ll have a slightly more sugary coating than the marshmallows you usually find in packets.
The great thing about them is they will always be quite massive, so you can have a proper chomp. We personally think it’s a similar principle behind nougat frequently being used in chocolate bars- both nougat and marshmallow contain quite a lot of air so it means they can make it a bigger treat at no extra cost!
Giant Gold Coin
Everyone knows gold coins are a staple of Christmas confectionary. It would almost be too obvious to put them on this list and too blasphemous to leave them out. But with these, there’s a great twist; we’ve been finding this year lots of people have been drawn to our giant coins. Twice the feeling of being rich, twice the ridiculousness. It’s also a brand of chocolate which puts a hearty amount of milk in its milk chocolate, so you won’t get as much of an acidic taste in your mouth like when you eat cheaper chocolate.
Dark Chocolate Marzipan Bar
A lot of the sweeties we’ve mentioned have been very family or child friendly, and THEORETICALLY this one is too because I was a massive fan when I was younger. However I think this one is best enjoyed by grown-ups, despite the fact it can taste just as sugary as our sugar mice.
A thin layer of dark chocolate gives way to melt-in-your-mouth marzipan underneath. I’ve always found it difficult to get through one of these in one go because it’s just that filling. It’s wrapper makes it easy to save for later if you need to, perfect for a little nibble away from prying eyes.
